2009-10 Degree Completion Plans

BEFORE ORIENTATION, each incoming freshman student should review the eight-semester degree program to see if it is something in which the student wants to participate. Review the various programs at the links listed below. More than 95 percent of our degree programs can be pursued under an eight-semester degree program. A few programs that require a summer internship or summer field class don’t participate in the eight-semester program, but can still be finished in four years. Some, like the Bachelor of Architecture degree, take longer than four years. Look at the bachelor's degree programs to see which ones do participate in the eight-semester program and see if the one you want to pursue is included. Review the PDF of the eight-semester policy to see how the program will work. Look at the sample PDF document you will be asked to sign regarding this program before you register.

Eight-Semester Degree Completion Programs – Most of the University of Arkansas degree programs can be completed in eight semesters and participate in the Eight-Semester Degree Completion Program.

Four-Year Degree Completion Programs – A few programs of study at the University of Arkansas require a summer internship or summer field class. As a result, those programs don’t participate in the Eight-Semester Degree Completion Program, but they can still be finished in four years by following these plans.

Five-Year Professional Programs – A very small number of programs of study require more than four years and are listed here.
